Being the camera man, upon receiving permission to photograph, I snapped away from indoor to outdoor, from Maniam’s house to his vast paddy fields. When dusk fell, our bus turned up at Maniam’s doorstep again. We exchanged blessings, bade our goodbyes and the bus rambled away. I looked back after a distance; Maniam’s small house looked even smaller amid the immense green paddy fields. Deep in my heart, I earnestly hoped that he will find solutions to his problems and sees better days ahead.

According to Maniam, this yellowish crop is ready for harvest in another 20 days.

We made the right move of dressing up in red.
