We had 2 hours to melt, pour and decorate our candles, and of course, to also delight ourselves in premium coffee and delicacies. In the Cliff and Max Workshop, Clarisse and Mabel patiently guided us through the making of hand-poured candles with soy wax and essential oils, and helped us perfect the candle with decorative items. Although we might not have made the perfect candles that afternoon, we truly lived through the beauty of imperfection, impermanence and incompleteness, which is the essence of wabi-sabi (侘寂), more so in the calm and peaceful Papan Haus。
