The End of A Walk

The day before I returned to my home country, I met Berbar, a professional photographer at the waterfront beside Tonle Sap. Berbar takes photos for books and magazines like Time and Newsweek (hblnetwork.com). During my short encounter with him, I learned that Cambodia has changed tremendously over the past 5 years. Unfortunately, the change is rather unconstructive as the wealth generated is unevenly distributed, the poor are getting poorer and the rich continue to be wealthier. With such disparity prevalent in the younger generations, he worries that bad history may repeat itself in the future. Not a pleasant message to take away from my visit to this sacred land of Cambodia. We shall not live in the past but we shall learn from it. With its rich historical culture, and kindness of the people, I strongly believe that Cambodia will live a better tomorrow.

Last but not least, before I sign off, here I present my most favorite shot of all, taken at Sambur Prei Kuk. Wish you had a pleasant walk with me.
